byteKode is an online student-led hackathon that is meant for anyone in high school looking to broaden their utilization of code. Our hackathon's mission is to showcase how beginner programmers can use code outside of the classroom to create meaningful projects. Even experienced students will be able to use their existing knowledge, while also expanding their knowledge using new resources and meeting new people.
** Please note - physical prizes (swag boxes/bags) may only be available to those residing in Canada and the United States. The same applies for some of the digital prizes (paid services from sponsors)
PLEASE NOTE: Hacks made from other hackathons are allowed to be submitted as long as they are created within the same timeframe and follow the theme(s) of our hackathon. Moreover, any hacks not created within this timeframe will be auto-disqualified.
Please note for prizes that are distributed to each team member, if your team has less than 4 members, you will receive prizes for that number of people (ex: 2 Wolfram Awards for group of 2).
To receive these prizes, you must register for the hackathon and join our Discord, where more info will be available/provided.
Requirements
- A video of the hack must be submitted, the length is completely up to your team. This video must include a description of the hack as well as how it incorporates the theme the team chose. Lastly, the video must show a demo of the working hack to show it's completely or mostly bug free.
- Another requirement of submission is the source code (public repository), preferably on GitHub, along with a readme.md with instructions on how to properly use the code.
- Hacks must have been created within the deadline given, old or plagiarised hacks are automatically disqualified.
